Here we are in the Spring of 2022, ready to embrace a new swimming season that isn’t governed by complicated rules on bubbles, isolation periods and lateral flow tests!
With the first swim; Tuesday 19th April fast approaching the new booking and payment system for Taster Sessions and Annual Memberships is up and running! If you are unsure about whether you need a taster session or not then please see the “Join” tab on the main menu and read down to the information regarding different swimming levels, and who to contact for advice.
Taster sessions will begin May 17th and run weekly through to the end of June, so book your slot sooner rather than later!
Tuesday swimmers will gather from 6pm at Shore Road, safety cover is provided and so are hot drinks for afterwards … previous season members don’t forget your reusable cups!
Sunday swims aren’t starting up just yet, we will be waiting to see the numbers we have for this season and then assess the interest levels. We’re working on solutions for a few little hurdles including the availability of changing facilities and the traditional lack of registration volunteers for this swimming slot.
The entire season would fall apart without the “Registration Sign Up” option found under the “Members” tab on the main menu. This is where we ask each member to commit to at least one Tuesday evening where they sit out of the swim and instead manage the swim register, to ensure the same amount of swimmers come out of the water as went in! It is a fun job, where you have a chance to chat to everyone, get to know names and show off your hot chocolate making skills … after all it can be quite hard to get to know each other once the ear plugs are in place and we’re all out battling against the waves.
The committee are currently working some serious overtime getting all the final touches in place, so we appreciate your patience with any enquiries and we can’t wait to see you all down on the beach!
