Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 of July 2010 – Granville
French club Espérance Vaillante Granville Natation would like to would like to introduce more British swimmers to their event, which is part of the FFN French Open Water Cup.
Granville is a small fishing town in Normandy, not far from major ferry routes and airports. A number of swimmers from Jersey regularly take part in the different events as well as 200 swimmers licensed with the French Swimming Federation.
On Saturday there is the traditional 5km race around Granville’s headland, and also in the afternoon, a water polo re-match where Granville’s water polo team take on Jersey.
On Sunday the Normandy Cup race of 1km takes place, followed by the Club’s Cup.
The public can follow the swimmers with commentary from the start to the finish on Plat-Gousset beach.
