ASA survey on participation in open water swimming

the-asa300The ASA have launched a survey to find out how it can improve the experience for open water swimmers in England.

Swimming is not only an important life skill but it’s also a fun and effective way to keep fit and since its inclusion in the Olympic Games in 2008, open water swimming has become more and more popular. This increased popularity means there are now loads of opportunities to get involved in the sport.

Nick Caplin, Director of Participation at the ASA, said: “It’s great that more people are enjoying the freedom and exhilaration of open water swimming. There’s been a huge rise in the number of people taking part in events over the last few years and it’s great to see more people getting out there and giving it a go.”

To find out how they can help improve the experience for open water swimmers both recreationally and at organised events the ASA is asking people to share their views.

Everyone who completes this short survey before Friday 2 October 2015 will be entered into a free prize draw to win one of three exciting ASA goodybags, including a £50 high street voucher.

Winners will be notified via email by Friday 16 October 2015.
