Be part of the Swimming Trust’s 2011 Great North Swim team

gns2011The Swimming Trust still has guaranteed places available for this year’s iconic Great North Swim.

The swim, which takes place over a 1 mile course in the beautiful Lake Windermere in Cumbria over the weekend of 18 & 19 June 2011, is open to anyone over 16 years of age on the day of the event.

Each Swimming Trust place costs £37.00 and you will need to agree to raise at least £150 for the charity.

If you have already got your place in the Great North Swim or any of the other Great Swims – in Ipswich, London, Strathclyde or Salford, then you can still support the Swimming Trust by nominating it as your charity and finding personal sponsors. Last year over 1,300 people supported the Swimming Trust in this way.

If you choose to support it make sure you use Gift Aid – charities can collect an additional 25p for every pound you raise from the tax man.

The Swimming Trust supports athletes of the future and helps vulnerable people, including people with disabilities, enjoy swimming. To do this the Swimming Trust has projects running around the country that help people achieve their goals; like the one Milton Keynes that supports young people take a career path in swimming by providing access to nationally recognised qualifications.
