The BEST FEST will be the world’s first 7 day Open Water Swimming Festival. The event will be held in the picturesque Mallorcan coastal town of Colonia Sant Jordi, a site which is ideal for open water swimming due to the crystal clear water and beautiful surrounding beaches.
The festival will feature 12 different open water events for swimmers of all abilities. Whether you are a beginner or a more experienced swimmer, you can enjoy a fabulous week of swimming, and learn from some of the world’s best open water athletes.
Olympic medallist David Davies and World Champion Angela Maurer will be giving technique sessions and open water master-classes as well as featuring in some of the week’s events. Clinics and pool sessions will take place in the world renowned Elite Swimming centre, the BEST Centre, which is located in the town. The BEST Centre has hosted numerous training camps for Olympic and world champions and is an ideal location for learning top open water tips.
The BEST FEST is for anyone who likes swimming in the sea or open water. There are races and events of many different levels and challenges, so whether you want to race, enjoy, improve your fitness or simply challenge yourself, there’s definitely something for everyone.
There’s the 3 race prize money series of the “Colonia Classics” as well as a range of challenging swims from 1.5km to 7.5km, all taking place in the beautiful and crystal clear protected waters around Colonia Sant Jordi and the nature reserve island of Cabrera. The “Big One” of the week is the 25km swim from Cabrera back to the mainland of Mallorca, where there’s a big chance you’ll be joined by dolphins.
Cash prizes and free holidays to be won
The “Colonia Classics” 3 race series will be offering tons of cash prizes to lots of different age groups. There will also be FINIS swim equipment prizes in all of the events, as well as ORCA wetsuits and equipment. All races will have lottery prizes for all entrants which include free holidays and meals in local restuarants.
The BEST Centre has hosted national swimming and triathlon teams from all over the world.
