Congratulations to East Dorset Open Water Swimming Club members who successfully swam around Brownsea Island nr Poole on a beautiful summer’s day. A special well done to club members Steve McCarthy (2.38.40), who is blind, and his guide Ann McGrath who is preparing for her second Channel relay swim in August.
East Dorset Open Water SC’s Emily Gall (1.32.29) and Stuart Purcell (1.32.46) came second in their respective wetsuit and non-wetsuit categories.
First back over the full distance was Seahorse Swim wetsuit category 2010 winner and 2011 runner-up, Guy Giles (1.15.08). Simon Joyce (City of Oxford SC) won the non-wetsuit category with 1.26.15.
The Ladies non-wetsuit and wetsuit categories were won by Jennifer Ellison (Swim Bournemouth, 1.30.32) and Vikki Frith (N/A, 1.28.50).
Congratulations to Neil Metcalfe (South Worcester Lifeguards) 3.12.55; Barry Adam (Ferndown) 3.23.13 and Tasha Morey (N/A) 3.23.14 who went twice around the Island.
