Sunday 3 July 2016 – Knoll Beach, Studland
East Dorset Open Water Swimming Club is organising its seventh open water swim across Studland Bay, near Swanage on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset, by kind permission of the National Trust and in support of the Seahorse Trust. The swim will be held in affiliation with the BLDSA for wetsuit and non wetsuit competitors, aged 16/O.
More details of the competition, distances, categories, schedule and entry forms will be published before Xmas 2015.
Tidal conditions on the day
For those of you interested in the challenge ahead:
Between 9am and 1pm BST on 3 July 2016 the actual tide drops by less than 0.5m and then comes back in again. High tide will at 9am, it will start to go out so the tide will be going form east to west until about 10:45am and then it will change direction and come back in until 1:10pm after which it will turn and go out until 4pm.
Between 9am and 1pm the tide will only drop and rise approximately 0.4m so there will not be much movement.
