Overall winners, West Dorset Warriors scored 30 points; Seagulls came second with 27 and equal third were Bere Regis Orcas and East Dorset Open Water Swimming Club with 8 points. Although BRO and EDOWSC only had one swimmer representing them, they each won their particular swim categories.
Dorset ASA President, Gerry Griffin said: “Swimmers and officials seemed to enjoy the event and look forward to competing again.”
We look forward to hearing if the County ASA intend to run the event in 2014 so that it can be added to the swim diary early. Naturally, tide times will need to be considered in setting the date.
Gerry added: “I encourage swimmers to bring their fellow club members next year and hope to see more clubs represented. The Poole branch of the Royal Life Saving Society and the National Trust have been very supportive in staging this event and I extended our thanks to them.”
