6 September 2009 – Governors Island, Upper New York Bay
World Champion and Olympic medallist Keri-Anne Payne compete in the latest leg of the series in New York as part of a strong British Gas Swimming Team. The British contingent includes three Olympic medallists from Beijing, with Payne (Stockport ITC) being joined by David Davies (Loughborough ITC) and Cassie Patten (Stockport ITC), as well developing talent Dan Fogg (Loughborough ITC) and Richard Charlesworth (Hatfield).
The seventh leg of the World Cup will take place along the banks of Governors Island in Upper New York Bay. The 10km route will consist of four out-and-back loops along the west side of the island.
Payne will be looking to continue her impressive season that saw her win gold at the World Championships in Rome in July.
