15 August 2009 – Royal Victoria Dock, London
The Great London Swim is a one mile open water course. The magnificent London skyline with views of Canary Wharf and the O2 arena provide the prefect backdrop for the thousands of swimmers that take to the water. The Great London Swim looks set to be just as popular as the inaugural Great North Swim and it is predicted that entries will fill quickly so make sure you enter soon to avoid disappointment.
Start Time: From 9am onwards groups of approximately 200 swimmers will enter the water, with a 30 minute interval between each group.
In keeping with the tradition of other Great Swims, world class elites will lead the field from the front covering the same course as the masses. Register at www.greatswim.org.
