This one-mile open water course across England’s largest natural lake, Windermere, is the UK’s largest swim of its kind and is definitely one not to miss.
Colin Hill, Event Director from Nova International, predicts up to 5,000 swimmers will take part in 2009. “The Great North Swim was an instantly iconic event that has created an exciting Great Swim Series around the country. There’ll be lots happening over the weekend.”
A business challenge event will been introduced this year where teams of 4-8 swimmers can represent their company to compete with others.
