Requirements

We can only cater for adult swimmers, so ages 16+. We just ask that swimmers have the ability to swim continuously for at least 20 minutes and have an awareness of basic safety. There's no need to be fast - it's far more important to be safe and comfortable in the water. Some of our swimmers wear wetsuits but many do not. The choice is yours and we are always happy to offer advice.

Taster Sessions

Before joining we ask new members to attend a Taster Session so we can assess their ability and run through some basic safety techniques. So if you'd like to attend one of the sessions you can book online or, please contact Becca Goodson, our membership secretary, for more information. Dates for taster sessions can be found on our calendar. We make a small charge of £5 which goes towards the hire of changing rooms, insurance and of course post swim hot drinks and biscuits.

Fast Track Joining

If you feel that you're a competent swimmer you can join without doing a formal Taster Session. We just ask you full in the relevant membership forms before you swim. Please contact our membership secretary who'll be happy to email them to you. If you don't want to commit to joining straight away you can also swim as a guest and we just make a small charge of £5.

Guest Swimmers

If you're just visiting Dorset and would like to swim with us that's great! If you're a competent swimmer please email to to introduce yourself first. We may ask you to sign a form and we charge £5 to cover costs of our facilities and refreshments.

Membership Fee

Our annual membership fee for 2023 will be £30. This includes hire of changing facilities with hot showers, post swim hot drinks, hat, biscuits, insurance and safety cover provided by lifeguards in kayaks. We will charge a reduced fee for those joining late in the season.
