Poole’s Sports Awards are held each year to celebrate sporting success in the Borough. They are hosted by Poole Sports Council and supported by the Borough of Poole and will once again be kindly sponsored by the Council’s leisure partners, Everyone Active Leisure Centres.
Nominations are now being invited for the 2015 awards which will be held at Magna Academy, Poole on Wednesday 23 September 2015.
There are two types of awards:
Certificates of Commendation, which recognise any outstanding sporting achievements over the last year. It can be for an individual or a team provided they are a Borough resident or are a member of a Poole based club or school.
Nominations can be made by members of the public, sports clubs, sports coaches, leisure centres and schools and can be for any age.
The Freddie Rowe Award, which recognises any outstanding sporting performance, contribution and dedication to a sport or long service to a club or sport.
Once again nominations can be received from anyone. Nominations are shortlisted and then a vote will take place by members of the Sports Council to decide this year’s recipient.
The closing date for nominations for this years event is Friday 17 July.
There will be a short period of assessment and we will then contact successful nominations and invite them to the event where the Mayor will present the awards
