Sunday, 12 September 2010 at 2pm – start at Teignmouth Beach
Rowcroft Hospice is appealing for people to sign-up for Sea Swim South Devon and the charity hopes 200 swimmers will take part.
Laura Carus, events fundraiser, said: “We hope the Sea Swim will appeal to those with an adventurous side; whether you are an experienced athlete or a novice swimmer. This event is certainly no walk in the park but we’ve got an information pack, for those that sign up, which is full of top swimming and training tips from Triathlon Coach of Year, Rob Moore.”
Money raised from the event will go directly towards caring for those who are suffering from life-limiting illnesses and need Rowcroft’s specialist support and care in South Devon.
Entry is just £10 per person and swimmers will be asked to raise extra funds through sponsorship. Swimmers will receive a Sea Swim South Devon swim cap, a medal and something warm to eat after the swim.
Rowcroft is planning this event with organisations including Teignmouth RNLI, Teignbridge Council, British Red Cross and the local life saving club.
