7 to 9 August 2009.
Picture yourself swimming in a valley half-filled with water. The water laps against the lush mountain sides. There are 1000 metres of water beneath you and 1300 metres of mountain above you. Reflections from the surrounding landscape turn the water into a magical shimmer of green and blue.
Events include the 3.7km Sognefjord Challenge across the deepest fjord in the world and open water swimming talks by ‘ Big River Man’, Martin Strel on his 5268km (3274m) swim down the Amazon, and Mariia Yrjö Koskinen, President of the International Winter Swimming Association, who will talk about winter swimming around the world.
