UPDATE: Volunteer role information pack and application form for Swim Safe 2014 at Boscombe Beach, Bournemouth – closing date extended to Friday 16 May 2014

ASA Level 2 Swimming Teachers Wanted!
Boscombe Beach, Bournemouth
The ASA and the RNLI are working together on a project called Swim Safe. The 2013 pilot took place in Bude and was a fantastic success with over 2300 children taking part in the programme. In 2014 the programme will be expanding to 3 locations across the country:
- 1. Bude Sea Pool, Bude, Cornwall
- 2. Boscombe Beach, Bournemouth
- 3. Sandhaven Beach, South Shields, Tyne and Wear
The programme offers free improver swimming lessons and beach safety advice for children aged 7-14 from Monday 28 July – Tuesday 26 August 2014 (exact dates and timings for Boscombe Beach, Bournemouth are in the document for download).
Most young people learn to swim in an indoor pool which is a safe and familiar environment. Swim Safe gives young people the opportunity to test and improve their swimming ability in a different aquatic environment. Children are being offered the opportunity to attend the free 40 minute session which will include beach safety advice provided by RNLI lifeguards and up to 30 minutes in-water tuition with ASA accredited teachers. The programme is weather dependant and sessions will be adjusted accordingly.
Parents can book their children onto the programme on the day or via the telephone booking number.
If you are interested in any of the Boscombe positions, please download and complete the Application Form in the advert flyer and submit to swimsafe@swimming.org no later than Friday 30 April 2014.
Please note that once teachers have been selected, DBS checks will be carried out.
If you have any questions please email swimsafe@swimming.org or call Helen Kellett on 07826 526470
