Volunteers' Week 1 to 7 Jun 2014

Volunteers’ Week is an annual campaign to celebrate the fantastic contribution of volunteers. This year the theme for the week is ‘Recognise and Recruit’ and to mark this the ASA has created a ‘Guide to Volunteer Recruitment‘ for hints and tips on attracting the best volunteers to our club.

The ASA would like to say a huge thank you for your dedication to volunteering in aquatics. We really appreciate your hard work and continued commitment and we’re not the only ones – check out these short films to see the full effect of your incredible contribution.

In recognition of Volunteers’ Week, the ASA will also be sending a special edition of the volunteering newsletter Making a Difference all about you, the volunteers. Is there a volunteer you think deserves a special mention? Is there a group of people that go the extra mile to make a difference? Tell the ASA all about it by sending your stories, videos and pictures of your star volunteers in action to volunteering@swimming.org for your chance to feature.

The deadline for your photos and stories is Friday 16 May – if you need inspiration take a look at some of the great stuff received for Volunteers Week 2013 or in 2013’s Volunteers’ Week special edition of Making a Difference. This year marks Volunteers’ Week’s 30th year, so the theme of ’30’ will also play a part.

There will be loads going on during Volunteers’ Week including ‘Volunteering Taster Sessions’ ‘Take Your Buddy to Work’ days and your chance to win a Speedo Aquabeat 2.0 4GB underwater MP3 Player and a Kodak PlaySport Full HD hand held video camera for your club. Visit the Volunteers’ Week homepage to find out more.

We will be recognising our hard working volunteers by using the ASA ‘Thank You‘ certificate.
