Volunteers’ Week is an annual campaign that runs from 1-7 June, led by Volunteering England, and celebrating the fantastic contribution that volunteers make across the country.
This year the theme for the week is ‘Time to say Thank You’.
East Dorset Open Water Swimming Club and the ASA would like to use this week and the time around it to formally and publicly thank our aquatic volunteer workforce. And we’re not the only ones. Check out the video below for more.

Watch the video, count the Thank You’s and send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your answers. Deadline is midnight Saturday! Every email will be entered into a prize draw to win some British Swimming goodies for your club!

Test your volunteering knowledge!
Download the quiz sheet, highlight your answers and email them back to firstname.lastname@example.org, the person with the highest score will win a pair of tickets to the British Gas Swimming Champtionships being held at Ponds Forge at the end of June. Deadlines for entry is midnight Monday!
Thank your volunteers!
Send a photo of you awarding your ‘Thank You’ certificate to that special person and you will be entered into a prize draw for tickets to the British Gas Swimming Championships. Send in your photos to email@example.com, the deadline is midnight Tuesday.
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your answers to the celebrity volunteer quiz, and the person with the most correct answers will win a signed Michael Jamieson GB Flag! Deadline for entries is midnight Wednesday.

What you can do to say ‘thank you’
To mark the occasion the ASA will be sending out a special edition of Making A Difference, the ASA’s quarterly volunteering e-newsletter.
EDOWSC and the ASA would also like to encourage you to say a big thank you to our volunteers and have prepared resources to support you in this.
If you’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to your volunteers download your Volunteer Reward Pack now including a volunteer support guide, your Guide to the World Wide Web from the ASA, a ‘Thank You’ certificate template and a press release template.
If you’d like to give recognition to an amazing volunteer workforce we’d love to include you in the celebrations, send your stories and pictures to email@example.com – some may be featured on the ASA website.
